Today, is my princess birthday! I cannot believe how fast time has gone by. I no longer have babies, now I have a one year-old and a four year-old! That is crazy!!!!
I feel very honored to have been able to capture my daughter's first birthday with a cake smash and a sitter session. I purposely planned her birthday to be the launch of my Milestone Photography Services.

Yay cake!
My princess had the opportunity to try cake for the first time at home with her brother, as I took the pictures for her cake smash. I had planned to have a professionally made cake but ran out of time. Luckily, Walmart is just accross the street so I found (actually, Hubby did) a beautiful cake that matched the style I wanted perfectly. That's the thing about a cake smash, although it's nice to have a fancy cake and all, it really is just about the baby enjoying what will likely be their first cake in celebration of their first birthday. In fact, most babies are not very into the cake at first. Many of them are weirded out by the texture and feeling of the cake. I actually suggest to save a bit of money on the cake smash and put those funds towards the birthday party cake, or upgrade a session with me and get more photos! In the end, every one of us go to enjoy what was left over from the cake. It was messy, but it was tons of fun!

A milestone session is perfect for infants 3 months to toddlers. Ages varies depending on what you would like to capture. Here's a quick list on what and how to prepare for your child's Milestone Photo Session.
Thinngs to consider
Booking your session
I recommend reaching out to book as soon as possible. Even if your baby is months out from reaching the milestone, book ahead so that there's plenty of time to plan (purchase outfits, order cake, make changes, etc.)
Different sessions
I offer three different milestone sessions: sitter, cake smash, and bathtub. I also offer personality sessions for the bigger kids.
For milestone sessions, you can book each individually, or as a package for an incredible discount!
Where do the session take place?
At my home in Brandermill. I am located right off Hull St Rd in Midlothian, Chesterfield County. I have the downstairs of my home set up for my small studio. Half of the room also serves as my kid's play area, which has so many toys and "things" for all age kiddos.
I do have two dogs in the home. They do NOT have access to the studio.

My set up is ideal for a clean, minimal background (see Lily's pictures as examples). I use minimal decor as I want the focus to be on the baby!
My colors consists of white background with pastels, earth tones, neutrals, and an occasional pop to make a particular object stand out. We will discuss and plan the set up together.
AFTER,
Search the web for outfits to prepare for the session. Be sure to send them to me prior to purchasing because we want to make sure the colors and style match the set up that we will have.
As a bonus, I also have a small client closet available for you at no extra cost! You are welcome to bring your own outfits, or select from my collection, or both!
ON THE DAY OF THE SESSION
Be sure babe is fed and rested! We will definitely schedule around priorities: nap and feedings! Once you arrive, you will have a chance to dress baby according to our set up. We will start shooting immediately as baby's attention span is short! We will do as much as they let us during the allotted time. Throughout we will change outfits and setups to get as much variety as possible.
