The following guide includes easy steps to prep for a flawless photo session

Step 1

Pick the location that works best for you! This year I am offering THREE locations.

On Friday, March 15th- I will be at the Cherry Blossoms in Richmond. This spot is sought out by other photographers so I purposely saved the session for Friday to hopefully compete a little less with others.

On Saturday, March 16th- I will be at The Landing on Fountain Lake. The blooms here are gorgeous but it may be a little busy. Not to worry though, we'll share :)

Our last day is on Sunday, March 17th- This spot is a gorgeous sidewalk on Hull St Rd. I am hoping we will have full blooms by then. We will chat if not.

Step 2

Wardrobe selections: THIS IS HUGE!

It is crucial to ensure you have planned your outfit selection prior to the session, AND consulted with me for that extra piece of mind.

For spring sessions, opt for pastel colors, floral patterns, light fabrics, and spring-themed outfits.

Coordinate do NOT match! Think of it like this: we're all from the same family but we're not all twins. Meaning, we have things in common, but we are unique in our own way.

Step 3

Hair and makeup! Along with your outfit selection, the details in your hair and makeup can make or break the session.

Consider natural and soft makeup looks. Avoid too much shimmer as it crashes with the camera and may create unflattering lighting.

For hair, think of Loose curls, or braided hair styles that are very in!

Ensure your hair and makeup complement the spring theme

Step 4

Props and accessories.

Given that the weather is crazy, think about layering your outfits with pretty scarfs, or a jacket, or even a loose shirt. These are a great addition because they can added or removed as needed.

With jewelry, consider pieces that do not take away from the overall look. Avoid a huge statement necklace with statement earrings--pick one of the two; or simple, classic jewelry.
